Mense-
\Mense\, n. dignity; comeliness; v. To Bless; To grace. [Prov.
Eng.]
Starting with 2 turntables, a tape recorder and a
microphone, Mense entered the game with a raw East Coast flow
and a crate of 12" records. Along side his DJ/manager T, Mense
got his name out by recording freestyles over classic
instrumentals (Aint no half steppin, Day One, The
Symphony...), and distributing them locally around Jersey and
NYC. From there, he began recording his demo at the legendary
D&D studios in Manhattan but due to its early closure the
project was left unfinished. Mense then moved from Jersey to
Boston and enrolled in college classes but dropped out after
only 3 months with the goal of puttin' all efforts towards the
game.
Only days after he left Boston and returned to Jersey,
Mense was featured on DJ Envy's "Please, Listen To My Demo"
mixtape as well as DJ On Point's "Step ya game up pt. 2".
These spots then landed him on DJ Vlad's Unsigned heat section
on "Hot In Here Pt. 4" which further secured his spot as a
rising force in the mixtape game. He was recently featured on
a new Snoop Dogg song called "Wheneva, Whateva" which will be
released by Sickamore & DJ Whoo kid in late febuary.
Currently Mense's plans are to continue building his
reputation through the mixtape game and release a "Best of
Mense" mixtape mid-summer '04. Still unsigned he is looking
to ink with a major label within the next few months and begin
to make his mark on the game... |
