AUDBOL, a Chicago
Southside resident, presents an enigma. He shows amazing
depth, an artistic endeavor that conceals a verbal chameleon
who is able to summon up new styles at will to convey his
moods and feelings. Like Rakim, the venerable rap icon who
enlightened a generation of hip-hop heads said, MC doesn’t
just stand for “Masters of Ceremony”, it also stand for “Move
The Crowd”, and that’s just what AUDBOL can do. Listening to
AUDBOL is like hearing a hip-hop historian verbally condense a
wealth of material stretching across spatial locations and
time periods into one compact disc.
In 1993, AUDBOL
and his then partner in rhyme Napps created 3D the futuristic
sci-fi world of rap. Through underground open mics and talent
showcases 3D landed their first recording contract with
Polydor/Polygram records. Finally, the chance to shine had
come but their careers took a turn when their manager bounced
with the signing bonus leaving AUDBOL and NAPPS out in the
cold. With that 3D decided to part ways and take different
paths.
AUDBOL's primary style comes across on tracks such as "Poppa"
and "Child Abuse," which reminds one of substantial poetry;
thoughtful soul on beats. On "Poppa," his distinct phrasing
reminds one of ScarFace of Ghetto Boys Fame. His tight
production is layered perfectly and takes into account
AUDBOL's conscientious, moral-driven storylines in a perfect
marriage that can squeeze tears from a stone.
AUDBOL embraces
the realism of life and its day to day struggles, no matter
what lifestyle you live AUDBOL represents you to the fullest.
He’s the inner emotions and voice of your daily lives. |
