"Millenium
Rapper"
Anonymous is a
Cuban American New Jersey native. With a broad spectrum of
concepts he has amassed a huge following. In 2001 he began his
rap career with an album called "Unsigned Hype." Sold 1000
units off the strength of a single called "Fatherless Son." In
2002 he released the self-titled "Anonymous." "Anonymous" sold
4,000 units of the strength of "Ground Zero" "Ground Zero"
gave Anonymous a cult like following colleges across the U.S.
Record deals started pouring in around this time.
Anonymous reinvented himself again in 2003 with "A Day In The
Life" By now Anonymous already had national coverage. He was
able to sell 16,000 units. A couple of things propelled 2003's
success. First off Anonymous was on the front cover of the
Jersey Journal. Hudson County's largest paper helped
Anonymous become an overnight celebrity. The truth is
Anonymous has been perfecting his craft since 1993. Perception
is the next man's reality so that's what Hudson County
thought. The song that resonated with people on 2003's release
was Laci Peterson. Being a father of a four year old named
"Destiny." Anonymous didn't understand how Scott Peterson
could have done that. He made a tribute to Laci and a guilty
verdict to Scott
all in one song. Allhiphop took notice and put Anonymous in
The Allhiphop Breeding Ground.
This column spotlights the next major players in the hip-hop
world. Riding off the article Anonymous released 2004's "Santa
Barbara." The Hip-hop community started buzzing wondering if
Anonymous was from "California" "Santa Barbara" is Cuba's
patron saint. Anonymous felt he should put that strength to
work for him. As of February 2005 Anonymous has sold 40,000
copies of "Santa Barbara" The album is the most well rounded
album Anonymous has released. Singles include "Six
Assignments" "Millennium Rapper" "Drama in my life" "So Many
Years" "Sick Thoughts" and "Letter to the Radio" Anonymous has
met hip-hop's major players and most co-sign that he is a
major player in the years to come.
